I approach health and fitness from a holistic perspective. Strength training and flexibility, diet and mental well-being—they’re all intertwined, and they all need attention.

Growing up, I was a high-level competitive gymnast, and after that a member and a captain of nationally-ranked dance teams. Those experiences taught me a lot about movement and fitness, but they also taught me the importance of having your head in the game. In school, I studied nutrition and psychology, adding yet another piece to the mind/body puzzle.

With all of that, I put together a varied career. I have my own nutrition practice, called Focused Energy, and I’ve also been a dietitian with the 20/20 LifeStyles program, which helps kids and their parents deal with weight issues—and has a phenomenal degree of success. In addition, I do corporate wellness at Starbucks, where I talk to employees about everything from nutrition to stress management. I also have taught yoga, which I began studying in college. For me, the appeal is the intensive combination of movement and mental focus.

Here, I get to put it all together in a mobility and flexibility program designed for CrossFitters. From a body-balance perspective, it’s so essential. With weight training, your muscles can get tight. What are your limitations? Maybe you don’t have shoulder or hip flexibility. Maybe you can’t engage your lats. We’ll break down the movement and teach you how to make small adjustments until we get things in working order.
